The expected turnaround time for weddings and elopements is 3-4 weeks and the turnaround time for sessions is 1-2 weeks. I know that you're so excited to see the memories and that is why I send previews (usually via text) within 48 hours. The only exceptions to this standard is if travel affects timing for the previews. If this is the case, then I will reach out and let you know!
If unexpected life events happen that will delay a gallery delivery, I or my emergency contact will reach out to you directly with an update.
Truthfully, if an image is good, you're going to get it. I don't believe in limiting the amount of images to fit packages. The amount will vary upon each couple, the length of their wedding, the moments occurring during their wedding etc. On average, more intimate small wedding receive 500-1000 photos and larger weddings receive 1000-2000. Additionally, I prefer to let your day flow as is but if there are certain shots you really want to make sure happen, we will go over this in the wedding prep questionnaire I send to you.
I will store your edited, delivered gallery online for 6 months after your delivery date. Your raw images will be stored for 4 months after your wedding date. I do not send raw images to clients because they are rather large files and because they are not a reflection of my artistic editing style. So why do I keep your raw images for that long? In the event that you review your gallery again and would like to inquire if there are more angles of a certain moment or shots of a loved one, I am happy to review the raw images to see if there are any more shots. This is a case by case scenario and is for intentionality, not to just add more photos to a gallery.
If you are located within 6 hours of Virginia Beach, VA then travel is definitely included! I love documenting special events in other regions though so I am happy to create a custom travel fee based on your location! (Most range from $400 - $800 based on lodging and flight accommodations.) Check out my bucket list locations in the about me section; if you're getting married in any of those locations, I will document your wedding for only the cost of travel.
For engagement shoots, 4 hours of travel is included.
ABSOLUTELY! I love documentary style photography and to let things unfold as they happen but I also love to make sure you get the editorial photos of your dreams if you want them. In this case, I am happy to consult with you on timing, location and direction to make sure they fit seamlessly into your day and you're not stopping the fun just to pose for photos.
Documentary style photography focuses on capturing candid, un-posed moments that happen naturally throughout the day. It's about capturing the raw emotions and pure joy that you'll undoubtedly experience on your wedding day. The goal is to create reality and not manipulate the moment to create a staged photo. My primary goal is to capture your wedding this way so you can relive the moments exactly as they happened. However, I do recommend that couples set aside time to capture moments with their closest loved ones and each other. These images are great for framing, including in 'Thank You' notes and for gifting to your parents for that good ole 'fridge photo'.
This is really the million dollar question, right? You have to make sure your photographer's editing style fits in with your vision.
I would describe my editing style as leaning toward a vintage film vibe with as much true to color hues as possible. Lighting will be different at every venue but I rarely ever lean toward light/airy & dark/moody. I love to fit right in the middle with a style that I personally feel is timeless and reflects the nostalgia of the perfect day you've created.
